I hope you’ve all had a good and fast week 😉
Finally it’s the weekend…….time to breathe easy and relax.
I’m always on the look out for good products so today’s post is about a tan that I’ve tried out for a few weeks. After years of trying absolutely everything from Beta Carotene supplements,to tanning oils, to hours sun baking and doing way too many sun beds only to achieve a natural tan that lasts the whole of 5 minutes, I decided it was about time to give up and except the fact that naturally I will always have skin that’s so pale it’s almost blue lol. All hope was not lost though, with the amount of fake tan brands on the market these days one has no need to settle for being pasty white. I opted for the healthy and lets face it more convenient way of looking like I spend my days sprawled out on a beach in Barbados (IF ONLY).
A few weeks back, like every other week another Thursday rolled around, yay Thursday!!! The night, for me, like millions of others is known globally a “Tan Thursday”. The night I get to slather my body in silky mousse all the while torturing my better half through another session of him apply my back while I give out about his less than perfect technique “your rubbing it to hard…..its leaving streaks!” God bless his patience. 🙂 So reaching for the my Usual tan…….OH NO!! There was just about enough left to do one arm, aah why the hell didn’t order some more (the tan I use isn’t readily available in Australia yet). So off I trot down to priceline to grab something else, on the plus side it gave me a chance to try something new, it gives you options, every needs options and I had heard heaps about bondi sands, this gave me the opportunity to try it out.
First impression, oohh it comes in sleek black packaging, I love love love black packaging. Then the price, wow so affordable!!!! I decided on the dark self tanning foam and the liquid gold dry oil, I also picked up the tanning mitt. So I get myself back home, crack it open and instantly I notice the quality of the tan mitt, the tan application side was very velvety and super soft. I applied the gorgeously coconut scented dark tanning foam like I always do and left it to develop overnight.
So far so good, next morning I rinse it off, its kept its promise of an even streak free finish. hmm am I onto a new winner?! I tried the mousse on its own for the for the first week so I can get a proper idea of the product before trying the dry oil. Day one/day two great, day three still okay but starting to look a bit patchy. I apply tan twice a week, Monday & Thursdays, because I wear it constantly. Day four rolls around, it’s not looking good its gone quite patchy, so I jump in the shower give a quick scrub to get the heavy excess off, hopefully this will even it out for my top up. I repeat my application and hope for the best. Next day I rinse it off, Eeemmm, it’s better than the previous day but definitely not as even as the first application.
Thursday rolled around again, the tan hadn’t faded any better so I decided to completely exfoliate off any tan and start fresh. I like to test product for a few weeks before I make up my mind on them. I did my usual routine from scratch and again it applied to fresh skin perfectly. On day four this week I topped up with the dry oil because we had a night out and who doesn’t want to be a shimmering goddess 🙂
I was quite impressed with the dry oil, it’s a lovely product to apply and it seems to take better over an existing tan than the foam . I did expect it to be a be more shimmering, I think just because its called “Liquid GOLD” I presumed that it would be a shimmering oil, it doesn’t actually state that it will make you shimmer. It faded better with the dry oil over it but still not the best. Also upon washing the mitt all the fibers started to fall out, which is a bummer because it was amazing to begin with.
Overall guys I think the bondi sands is a lovely product that smells amazing, especially the dry oil it’s so handy to pop on if you’re in a rush as it dries quite fast. However the foam didn’t wear off as good as I would of like it too and the mitt shed its fibers once it was washed.
My conclusion of this range is, if you don’t wear tan all the time and only apply for an occasion then its perfect for you. It was great for the first three days I had it on but does need to be completely scrubbed off after this. It goes on so easy, has a lovely scent and is so affordable. Although it’s not my all time favorite, it has earned a spot on my tan self.

All my Love
Hello lovelies ,
I hope you are all having a fantastic bank holiday Monday:)
It is such a gorgeous day here today but there is no doubting that winter has well and truly began. Recently it has been sooo cold 🙁 , but while it makes me sad that summers over for this year one thing we get to look forward to is some good hearty comfort food. I must admit by this time of the year I’m glad to be putting down the lettuce leaves lol, and there’s nothing quite like a nice hot bowl of soup to warm your bones. I’ve become slightly obsessed with pumpkin soup. I literally have it everyday!!! I just kind of winged the recipe and was super impressed with the result so I thought I would share it with you guys. Its easy peasy and a great way to get your veggies in. It also makes up a huge pot so just freeze it and you have a healthy ready-made lunch.
2 Cloves of Garlic
2 Butternut Pumpkin
2 Vegetable Stock Cubes
1 tsp Cumin
1 tsp turmeric
Knob of Butter
Salt & Pepper to season
I start out by washing, peeling and chopping all my veggies into chunks(not too big) before I start to cooking.
Tip- Chop, separate and pop leek into a bowl of water while you prep other veg, this will allow any grit caught in between layers to be washed off before cooking it.
Melt a knob of butter in a large non-stick pot, drain leek and add to the pot with onion, cook for 5 or until soften. Add garlic and cook for another minute.
Next Add all of your prepared veggies give it a good stir and cook for a further minute.
Lastly add enough water so veg is just covered. Add stock cubes, cumin and turmeric.
Season with some salt & pepper.
Bring to the boil, cover and simmer for 20 mins or until veg is cooked and blend.
Tip- if you prefer sweet rather than spicy, add nutmeg instead of turmeric and cumin.
Wallah!!! there you have it. Serve with some fresh bread and a splash of cream. So tasty and healthy, perfect to get you through these cold winter days.
Hope you enjoy
All my love
I hope you are all having a great weekend 🙂
Today’s post is all about the skin care range I have been using for the last couple of months. For any of you out there who, like me, were blessed with oily/congested skin you will know the STRUGGLE IS REAL!! to find good products that don’t clogged your pores and make you break out. For years to my beauticians and even work colleagues despair I completely avoided using moisturizer/serums because no matter how hard I looked and believe me I looked, or how much money I spent, every lotion that graced my face resulted in me breaking out. I was defeated in my search so I gave up, moisturizer just wasn’t for me. I kept my skin really clean so I didn’t break out, but just accepted the fact that I would always have a dull congested complexion.
That was until I fell pregnant and my hormones wreaked havoc on my skin. I got all the types of acne, bacnce, chacne and facne as I like to call them (back, chest and face). I couldn’t really use anything while I was pregnant but I knew once I had my little girl I had to find something to just get it under control. After I gave birth and my hormones started to calm it wasn’t so bad but still a far cry from healthy looking skin. Then I happened to stumble upon NIP+FAB at the recommendation of a friend. Its been a game changer!!I started using the glycolic fix range along with the deep cleansing fix cream and I could see the difference straight away. I started out only using the glycolic fix cleansing gel once a week because it contains active glycolic acid, that works by gently exfoliating away dead skin cells and brightens the skin, it also hydrates and plumps by drawing water up to the surface. you need to be careful when using this product, over use can really cause some sensitivity, you need to build yourself up to using this. So maybe start with once a week for about a month and slowly go from there. It is a bit of a journey with this product the result is amazing.
The deep cleansing fix is the most impressive and versatile of the products I purchased. Honestly I cannot recommend this one enough, it really cleans the skin but it is surprisingly moisturizing. I use it every night as a cleanser but it can be applied liberally and use as a 10 minute hydrating face mask or over night as an intensive moisturizer.I usually use it this way after I apply a mask which brings me to the next product.
The instant fix mask is a pore tightening clear gel I only used this every fortnight, its more potent than the cleansing gel it contains 4% glycolic acid, evermat technology along with amino acids that reduces shine while also brightening skin tone and evens out skin texture. You really notice the difference after you apply this and the results last. It is quite strong though so once a fortnight is plenty for me and a good moisturizer after this is probably a good idea.
Last but most definitely not least is the Fix Serum. This is a lovely product that I used nightly with an oil free moisturizer, it contains aloe vera that soothes and calms once you have deeply cleansed your skin.
Overall since using these products my skin has not only become less oily with a smoother more even complexion, it’s noticeably clearer and brighter, most impressively my skin has been very hydrated and supple which is a welcomed change. If you are looking for a good skincare range that is not only amazing but also so reasonably priced I highly recommend you give these a go.

When looking for some hair inspiration, one never has to look far. Last night saw the 69th Cannes Film Festival kick off and the stars were out in force.Hitting the red carpet preened to perfection and glamorous as ever. Natural simple waves seemed to favor most popular for the celebs with the likes of Blake Lively, Anna Kendrick, Eva Longoria, Kristen Stewart and Naomi Watts being among some of the many celebrity opting for this hair style on the night.
Soft chic up dos, sleek ponytails, center parts and simple braids were also styles that were showcased on the night. Claire Danes, Gianna Simone and the ever stylish Victoria Beckham choosing to sweep their hair back into subtle up dos. All keeping it quite soft and feminine around the face.
My absolute favorite dress and hair combos are Bella Hadid in a beautiful embellished nude gown, she pulled her hair back into a very sleek high ponytail. A striking style that instantly give lifts to the face and enhances the cheekbones perfectly. The other favorite of the night for me is Lily Donaldson in a plunging black gown and choker necklace. I love this look, she kept her hair in a natural center part and swept it back into a simple braid, so on trend at the moment.
Have something coming up and stuck for ideas? opt for any of these styles and you won ‘t go wrong, remember its all about soft elegant styles right now so do over think it, keep it simple and feminine.
Dyson have just announced the launched of there supersonic hairdryer and it looks absolutely awesome!!! I’m not going lie when I seen first seen this, I immediately read a bit about it and got pretty excited. Blow drying was one of the first thing I learned as a trainee. I loved a good blow dry then and I still do now. We were taught that now matter how long you spend coloring and cutting hair that if it wasn’t style to perfection leaving the salon then you really haven’t done all your hard work any justice. I still totally agree with this today.
Dyson is a British Technology company that up until now we only associated with manufacturing vacuums, hand dryers, bladeless fans and heaters. They were smart with this they saw an opportunity with something that hasn’t been updated in years and they ran with. They have completed redesigned of the structure of the standard hairdryer. With its sleek futuristic appearance it definitely catches your eye.
So what exactly makes it different from any other hair dryer??
Collaborating with one of Britain’s best hairdresser Akin Konizi they seemed to have addressed all the faults with others on the market, this model promises to cut drying time with a digital motor that is not only lighter, smaller and more powerful but also quieter than the original dryer. Lets face it that alone is pretty impressive because we have all been there, shouting over the hair dyer struggling to hear what a client is saying resulting in you just nodding in agreement because quiet frankly asking someone what they said more than three times just gets awkward. The attachments are held on magnetically making them easy to adjust and stay cool to the touch. The motor is located the handle to evenly distribute weight resulting in less arm, wrist and back ache, another plus.
It is designed in a way that blows focused jets of air at 13 litres per second (a lot basically) and has intelligent heat control to avoid over heating. Offering more control, reduced frizz and shiny voluminous results without out compromising hair condition, it sounds like everything you could want in a dryer and more.It doesn’t go on sale in the UK until June and does come at a price, said to retail at around £299/$570AUD. There has been no word yet as to when it will go on sale in Australia. It will certainly be interesting to see how it with stands the test of a busy salon but one thing is for sure if it does everything promises it will be a great investment.
Then again was it ever really gone?!!…….
Since the master of hair that was Vidal Sassoon introduced the bob style back into society in the 60’s it has been a trend that has resurfaced time and again. Through the ages we have seen so many of those in the spotlight sport many different takes on this style. It’s been the signature do of vogues editor in chief Anna Wintour for decades and 2007 saw its popularity soar with the debut of the “Rihanna bob”. It has repeatedly proved itself as one of the most versatile hairstyles and there is absolutely no doubting that 2016 has seen the bob/lob hairstyle make its mark as a massive trend. There has been an array of celebrities showcasing numerous variations of this beautiful do. From the goddess that is Rosie Huntington-Whiteley sporting a soft textured lob, to the usually oh so conservative T-Swift taking a massive plunge by not only opting for a shorter chic style bob but also topping it off with platinum locks, a massive change but soooo worth it in my books. Then there’s style chameleon kylie Jenner…….is there any style this chick cant wear!!!! Always one to provide the shock factor this week rocking up to the Met Gala working a sharp sleek glossy bob, it finished off her look to perfection.
Undeniably this versatile style is a definite favorite among us hairstylists with so many variations, from the short sharp classic bob that hugs the face, to the more textured edgy graduated bob, to the soft playful lob and many more in between. Each one drawing the eye to the neck area makes it a very feminine sexy style. One thing is for sure there is a variation of this hair style to suit almost anyone so if your looking for a change this year this should be one to consider.
Having that said there are a few things to consider before you chop your locks, because as a stylist there is nothing worse than having a client bounce through the door of the salon eager for a change only for us to tap into are inner artist and create a masterpiece on your noggin, all the while witnessing the sheer delight fade from your face and watch you shrink into your chair because you really didn’t anticipate the nakedness you’d feel once it was gone.So before you take the plunge you should:
- Find the right stylist – This is so important when going for a complete change, be happy with your stylists work before you them loose on your mane. Before any work is started on your hair an in-depth consultation should be completed, during which they can properly assess your hair type, texture, face shape, lifestyle and hair growth direction e.g jumps and cowlicks. This is a vital step to achieving the perfect style and will you give you a clear idea of exactly what result to expect. Always ask your stylists for some tips on styling your new do this will give you more confidence when you tackle it yourself, if you know how to style your hair yourself chances are your going to love it.
- Timing- while they stay a change is as good as a holiday make sure to pick your timing. Post break up might seem like the perfect time to have a drastic change, your looking for something new and exciting, when in fact its the complete opposite, your at your most vulnerable and being unhappy with your hair on top of heartache isn’t not going to help. Pre-wedding or public events is another time I would avoid you don’t to face lots of people when your feeling self conscious or spend your post wedding years looking back on pictures of you with hair you disliked.
- Hair type/texture- its a good idea to keep in mind the shorter you go the tighter your hair textured will become as you no longer have the length to pulled it down e.g curly hair is going to bounce up a lot more. Preferably have your hair natural and unstyled for your appointment, that way your stylist knows exactly the hair texture they are working with and can tailor a style that will suit it best. Have realistic expectations and always bring visuals, with smart phones you have unlimited access to thousands of styles,so choose a few you like, show your stylist and avoid disappointment.
- Give it time- Allow yourself sometime to get use to it, so often you hear people unhappy straight after a change but then they love it after a couple of weeks. We associate so much of our identity with our hair so you have to allow time for you to adjust, it will take a few days and a few washes before you really have a good feel for it and the beauty is if you still really regret it after this you can always grow it out, remember nothing is permanent.
